The name of the Villa is based on their daughter’s name, Alexia.

I am someone who doesn’t like high rise chain hotels when visiting new countries. I liked this place as soon as I stepped onto it. The beautiful pictures that I had seen before piqued my curiosity, I had to see it with my own eyes to truly believe the beauty.

Villa Alexia looks even better seeing it for yourself than on the photographs. Once I entered the Villa, right away the homely feel of the place is very evident.

The highlight of this patio is it’s lovely courtyard with a Koi pond. The sound of the water adds to the peaceful atmosphere.

The design of the grounds was modern yet incorporated Sri Lanka traditional style.

A lovely outdoor space great for relaxing.

I was escorted to the rooms. They have 4 rooms and all are so chic and huge, each are bungalow type. I loved the colonial style decor and the rooms are luxurious and impeccably clean.

Here’s a list of  rooms that they offered:

• Air Conditioning • Desk • Seating Area • Fan • Extra Long Beds (> 2 metres) • Private entrance • Tile/Marble floor • Mosquito net • Wardrobe/Closet • Shower • Hairdryer • Free toiletries • Free Wi-Fi Minibar • Refrigerator

Stand Twin rooms ( 2 single beds )

Standard double room (1 extra large double bed) with garden view.

Bathroom: I loved the outdoor shower (Don’t worry… It only feels like you are outdoor because of the bathroom design).  The pebble ground decor inside the bathroom  gave off a very peaceful and zen vibe.

There are also chairs and tables through out where you can sit for afternoon tea or some food surrounded by beautiful gardens.

Contemplate on the meaning of life while napping in the original “lazy boy”.

They also offer continental breakfast. You can dine al fresco.

The guest also has an option to make use of the establishment’s common kitchen. Where one may bring in their own food and cook it themselves using the kitchen appliances.

Villa Alexia makes you want to go back over and over again and stay no place else. It’s conveniently located walking distance to some really good restaurants. Even at night you feel very safe in the area. You won’t go wrong with this place.

Make sure to maximize your meditation time in the morning or late afternoons. For me, these times of the day have the coolest temperatures, and it’s the best time to enjoy the place and the garden.

The service was impeccable. There is a spacious veranda in each of the rooms, with a large settee chair to enjoy the complimentary drinks.

This is the perfect place for you if serenity is what you are searching for.
