From our vantage point at the balcony of the Ella Nature View Inn, we were treated to a visually stunning view of the cloud shrouded valley at Ella Gap Waterfalls careening down the mountainside.

I was able to visit this beautiful part of Sri Lanka on March of 2017. I first stayed in Ella Bamboo Cabana and it was absolutely amazing. Next on my adventure, I was lucky enough to stay at The Nature View Inn. This place has so much charm. The whole Inn and all the people exude such a warm welcoming feeling, that you can genuinely feel it. It is nestled in one of the most beautiful places and has one of the most amazing natural scenery in the world, Ella, Sri Lanka.

Ella, Sri Lanka – Is a small town in the Badulla District of Uva Province, Sri Lanka. It is approximately 200 kilometres (120 mi) east of Colombo and is situated at an elevation of 1,041 metres (3,415 ft) above sea level, that’s why the climate is cold in this place. The natural beauty and the proud history of the province are the main reasons why I chose to go on a “spur of the moment adventure” here.

When the wind blows through the mountains, a “hoo” sound is generated. It is believed from the tales that the word “hoo-wa” is later transformed into “Uva”. But how and when it is used is never mentioned.

This was my favorite place to stay in Ella, Sri Lanka’s finest panorama.

The newly built Ella Nature View Inn was designed using a post modern style. While communing with nature, everything that you need to stay connected  in the modern world is provided. It serves as a perfect spot to refresh one’s soul and to take in all that nature’s healing power has to offer.

The town of Ella is a short drive by Tuk tuk, or a short hike uphill along a sloping trail. We chose to hike thru the rough unmade trail. But that just added more memorable bits to the adventure of our Sri Lankan vacation.

One of the most amazing things about this hotel was the view from our balcony.

The charming balconies have a brilliant view of the Ella Gap Mountains and specially the Water Falls! The local village valley below is also visible and you can even hear the happy voices of the locals sometimes. These sights and sounds right from the comfort of your balcony is an experience not to miss.

view from the balcony.

Elegant room with a double bed was comfy and the pillows and duvet were feathered versions, which I really liked!

No Air Conditioning, but the temperature was cold, so the fan worked well. The room had Wi-Fi, Satellite TV and a mini fridge.

Waking up and enjoying a nice hot tea/coffee on a cold morning.

A lovely bathroom that was clean and with hot water. All that a weary traveler needs to help rejuvenate herself.

The hotel is ideally situated, close to both the railway station and the the village. The entire landscape is a testament to the beauty of nature. It is simply so relaxing and peaceful.

To wake up in the morning and see the sunrise in Ella Gap Mountains is a wonderful sight.

Breakfast is freshly prepared and served on the terrace overlooking the enchanting view. The food was of very good standards.

The staff is very helpful and very friendly. 7/5 Stars!

I had a refreshing commune with nature, my whole adventure in Ella was awesome and Ella Nature View Inn was a perfect place for me to stay. The town and it’s friendly people have so much history. and the Inn has easy access to the village. The frequent local train service that passes by is also a real treat! What a great mountain holiday.

It’s a wonderful and quiet town. This is a very special hotel. We shall return to it knowing that the welcome they give us is heartfelt and genuine, that nothing is too much trouble for the guests and that we will have a most enjoyable stay. Mountain view rooms have modern facilities, balconies with morning sunrise and afternoon sun and traditional furnishings. I highly recommend visiting in this hotel.
